Biography
Maqbool Ahmad Mujahid was born in January 1925 in present-day Pakistan, into the respected Abu Zaid family, to Muhammad Din and Hussain Bibi. Although raised in a well-off family of landlords, he chose the path of religious devotion from a young age. Seeking deep Islamic knowledge, he traveled to Delhi, India, for formal Islamic education, where he studied under prominent scholars. After the 1947 partition, he returned to Pakistan and settled in the village of Ghartal Kalan, where he would spend the rest of his life in service to Islam and his community.
Standing at 5 feet 7 inches, he carried a calm presence and was known for his humility, dedication, and piety. He undertook the blessed journey of Hajj twice, first in 1952 and again in 1965, when travel was far more difficult than it is today. Throughout his life, Maqbool Ahmad Mujahid remained committed to spreading Islamic teachings and living a life of righteousness.
