Principal Inayatullah Safqat Sb

Born on June 1949, Principal Inayatullah Safqat Sb emerged as a towering figure whose influence profoundly shaped his community. His early education commenced at Govt School 144RB Ghartal Kalan, followed by the completion of his Matriculation in 1965 at Govt High School Salarwala. He continued his academic pursuits at Islamic College Faisalabad, earning his Intermediate (F.A.) in 1967 and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in 1969. His thirst for knowledge led him to further excel, culminating in a Master's degree in Political Science in 1971. His distinguished career in academia began in 1972 as a lecturer at Islamia College Sambrial. In 1976, he transitioned to Govt Islamic College Sangla Hill, where he dedicated himself to nurturing young minds. His commitment and expertise earned him progressive promotions, becoming an Assistant Professor in 1984, an Associate Professor in 1990, and finally, the esteemed Principal of Govt Islamic College Sangla Hill in 2004. He served with unwavering dedication until his retirement on June 12, 2009. Throughout his illustrious career, Principal Safqat was not merely an educator but a steadfast mentor and advocate for his students, consistently standing at the forefront to address their challenges and concerns. Chaudhary Muhammad Hussain (DSP Rt)

Chaudhary Muhammad Hussain was born on March 1940, in Ghartal Kalan, Faisalabad. He was the son of Ahmad Ali, who was a respected Nambardar in the village. Even as a young boy, he showed great promise with his gentle and kind nature. He started his education at Govt Boys High School Salarwala and later moved to another school in District Sheikhupura when he was in the 9th class. When his father passed away, it was a very hard time for him and his family. Even though many people gave up, he kept studying. In an era when education was very hard to get, especially in villages, he became the first person in his village to pass the FA (Intermediate) exam. His life story shows how determination and courage can overcome many difficulties. He grew up to be not only smart but also soft-spoken and kind. His journey is an inspiration for many in his community. His life continues to serve as a guide for those who face hardships in their own lives.

Professor Abdul Waheed

Professor Abdul Waheed, son of Muhammad Shafi Nambardar, was born in a small village in Pakistan. He believes that life is a continuous struggle, and only those who work hard succeed. From his early days, he was known for his dedication and hard work. He completed his primary education at the village school and then studied at Government High School Salarwala until matriculation. For higher studies, he attended Government Degree College Dhobighat, which is now called GC University. He later completed his B.Ed. from Government College Samanabad and earned a Master's degree in Urdu from NUST Division. On 2nd February 1983, he began his career as a lecturer at Government Degree College Jaranwala. While teaching, he also completed his M.Phil. from Allama Iqbal Open University. Apart from academics, he was also a talented sportsman. In 1981, he was awarded Best Athlete of Punjab University and was selected for Pakistan's international athletes team. He also became one of the top Kabaddi players in the region. After a long and successful career, Professor Abdul Waheed retired as an Associate Professor in February 2018. His journey is an inspiration for many young people, especially those from rural areas.

Muhammad Bashir Azhar was born in the village of Ghartal in 1947. He was a bright student from a young age. He completed his primary, middle, and matric education from the local school with good marks. After school, he got admission in FSc Pre-Engineering at Government College Faisalabad. It was very difficult for him because he had to travel a long way every day. He would ride a bicycle to Sainwala train station and then take an early morning train to Faisalabad. But he worked hard because he wanted to change his family’s future through education. In 1970, he got admission to the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore. He studied there and became a Chemical Engineer in 1974. After completing his studies, he started his career at National Fertilizer Corporation in 1976. Later, in 1990, he joined Fauji Fertilizer Company and worked there until he retired in 2010. After retirement, he moved to Lahore but never forgot his village. He continued to visit Ghartal regularly and always stayed connected with his roots. He is respected for his hard work, honesty, and service to his people.

Molana Maqbool Ahmad Mujahid

Maqbool Ahmad Mujahid was born in January 1925 in present-day Pakistan, into the respected Abu Zaid family, to Muhammad Din and Hussain Bibi. Although raised in a well-off family of landlords, he chose the path of religious devotion from a young age. Seeking deep Islamic knowledge, he traveled to Delhi, India, for formal Islamic education, where he studied under prominent scholars. After the 1947 partition, he returned to Pakistan and settled in the village of Ghartal Kalan, where he would spend the rest of his life in service to Islam and his community. Standing at 5 feet 7 inches, he carried a calm presence and was known for his humility, dedication, and piety. He undertook the blessed journey of Hajj twice, first in 1952 and again in 1965, when travel was far more difficult than it is today. Throughout his life, Maqbool Ahmad Mujahid remained committed to spreading Islamic teachings and living a life of righteousness.

Haji Muhammad Shafi

Haji Muhammad Shafi, a respected and noble figure in the village of Ghartal Kalan, was born in June 1926. He began his early education at the local Government School Ghartal Kalan, now known as Government High School 144-RB. He showed great promise in his academic journey from the beginning and later completed his matriculation at Government High School Salarwala. Determined to pursue further education, he enrolled at the prestigious Khalsa College in Faisalabad (present-day Municipal Degree College), where he completed his intermediate studies. After his formal education, Haji Muhammad Shafi joined the Irrigation Department as a Patwari, an entry-level officer responsible for land and water records. Due to his unwavering honesty, sense of responsibility, and excellent performance, he earned steady promotions and eventually rose to the respected position of Zaildar. He retired honorably from this post on June 15, 1986, having served the department and his community with dedication for decades. Throughout his career, he was known for his discipline, truthfulness, and patriotism. His decisions were fair, and his reputation was clean, qualities that earned him great respect not just in government circles, but also among villagers and community elders. He was a man who valued ethics over shortcuts, and his conduct became a role model for many younger officers in his field. Haji Sahib's values were deeply rooted in education and community service. His home was a place where learning and honesty were encouraged, and his children grew up observing the importance of integrity and public service. These traits not only defined his career but also shaped the legacy he left behind for generations to come

Ghulam Rasool (Rt SP, Union Nazim)

Ghulam Rasool was born on May 1936 in a small village. At that time, education in villages was very rare and difficult. But Ghulam Rasool worked very hard and completed his matric (10th class) from Government High School, Salarwala. In February 1955, he joined the police as a constable at Qurban Lines, Lahore. After years of dedication, he became RI (Reserve Inspector) in the Motor Transport (MT) Police. Later, he served as DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) in Sargodha Telecommunication Police. He then returned to Lahore as DSP in the MT Police. In 1995, he was promoted to SP (Superintendent of Police) in the Telecommunication Police Lahore, where he looked after the whole Punjab region. He also worked as SP in MT Punjab Wing. He retired on 14 May 1996 after serving for 41 years. Even after retirement, Ghulam Rasool never stopped working for the people. In 2000, he contested in the Union Council elections of Pakistan. He won with the election symbol “moon” and became Union Nazim. Ghulam Rasool passed away on 21 April 2021, during the holy month of Ramadan (8th Ramadan). He is remembered as an honest and kind man who served his village and country with great passion.

Arif Husain was born on June 1955 and is a proud son of Ghartal Kalan. He pursued his education during very difficult times, showing great dedication and hard work. Despite the challenges, he rose to become a top scientist in Pakistan. He joined Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) on 9th February 1980. Over the years, he served as the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at KRL. He worked closely with Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the father of Pakistan’s nuclear program. Arif Husain was part of the team that played a major role in making Pakistan a nuclear power. His journey from a small village to a top position in science is truly inspiring.
