Biography

Chaudhry Ghulam Rasool "Fauji" – A Great and Historic Figure of Ghartal Kalan

Chaudhry Ghulam Rasool, also known as "Fauji Sahib," was a very respected, kind-hearted, and religious person from the village Ghartal Kalan (Chak No. 144 RB), District Faisalabad. He belonged to the Arain Jattala community. Allah blessed him with a long life, and he lived for 107 years. After living a full life, he passed away. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'un. Even after his death, people speak of him with great respect and love. We pray that Allah grants him a high place in Paradise. Ameen.

Fauji Sahib was also a brave soldier. In his youth, he fought in World War II and served in the British Army in countries like Burma, China, Egypt, and Sri Lanka. He was a true warrior who faced bullets with patience, courage, and loyalty. After the creation of Pakistan, he also served in the Pakistan Army and retired with honor.

Contributions & Achievements

He had a noble and humble personality. He was simple, patient, and quiet, yet very kind. He treated everyone in the village with respect, honored the elders, and showed love to the younger ones. There was something special in his personality that touched everyone who met him.

Fauji Sahib played a major role in making the name of Ghartal Kalan known and respected. He worked hard for the development of the area and helped raise awareness about education and social issues. He became a symbol of the village, and even today, people talk about "Fauji Sahib" with pride.

One of the most inspiring parts of his life was his strong support for education. At a time when girls' education in villages was often ignored, he used his own land to build a school for girls. Under his guidance, his daughter helped this school grow into a college, which was named Fauji Girls College.

This college became the biggest educational center in the area. Girls came from nearby villages like Ghartal Khurd, Gunay, Bakhriwali, Mitranwali, Kamalpur, Kanan Sian, Ransiwal, Gojra, and Sahoowala to study here. In those days, it was hard for girls from villages to travel to cities like Faisalabad or Sangla Hill, so this college helped hundreds of girls complete their education up to B.A. level.

Many of these girls later became teachers, lecturers, and professionals, continuing the light of knowledge. All of this was possible because of Fauji Sahib’s vision, sacrifice, and sincerity.

His interests were not only in the army or education. He also loved literature. He enjoyed writing funny poetry, folk stories, and simple tales in Punjabi. His words were full of wisdom, experience, and love. His gatherings were full of joy, thought, and knowledge for the villagers.

Even today, the influence of his good character and actions can be felt in the air of Ghartal. He was not just one person – he was an example, a light, and an inspiration for many hearts. His life is a guiding path for all of us.

May Allah bless him with a place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and make the good work he started a lasting reward for him. Ameen.
